Petrosin was awarded
construction of a single mooring buoy (12m diameter)
by SBM Inc 1991
The mooring buoy is an integral part of the offshore
system which essentially allows oil tankers to intake
crude oil directly at offshore locations. The buoy was
trasported from Singapore to Vietnam and was then connected
to a 150,000DWT tanker offshore Vietnam. The storage
and off loading system is owned by VietSovPetro (a Vietnamese-Soviet
oil production company)
The project has given Petrosin a foothold in the regional
offshore energy sector. The project was under a very
tight schedule and had to be completed before the onset
of the monsoon season. Petrosin completed within the
client's tight project time frame.
